Sponsors & Partners

Translated By, Bristol gratefully acknowledges the support of the following organisations.

Authors’ Licensing & Collecting Society (ALCS)

ALCS is a not-for-profit organisation started by writers for the benefit of all types of writers. Owned by its members, ALCS collects money due for secondary uses of writers’ work. It is designed to support authors and their creativity; ensure they receive fair payment and see their rights are respected. It promotes and teaches the principles of copyright and campaigns for a fair deal for writers. It represents over 125,000 members, and since 1977 has paid over £700million to writers.

The International Booker Prize 2025

Translated By, Bristol is proud to partner with the International Booker Prize and their work with PEN Presents:

Last year, the Booker Prize Foundation and English PEN launched PEN Presents x the International Booker Prize, to address the underrepresentation of translators from the Global Majority in submissions to the prize and to English PEN’s PEN Translates programme. Judging is currently underway, and this spring, 12 scholarships of £500 each will be offered to translators to create a 5,000-word translation sample. A final selection of six winners, announced in May, will be given editorial support and promoted as a showcase to UK publishers, so that more literature in translation, created by more people, reaches English-language readers.
