We are now accepting event pitches for the Translated By, Bristol 2027 festival programme.

Translated By, Bristol is a biennial literary festival that celebrates the art and practice of literary translation, foregrounding the translators themselves. The 2027 iteration of the festival will take place from the 17th to the 30th of May 2027.

We are accepting pitches for in-person events from publishers and agents, and we particularly encourage pitches for events that:

  • Celebrate languages that are currently underrepresented in contemporary publishing
  • Centre writers and translators from global majority backgrounds
  • Have an expansive definition of translation and explore new ways in which to engage audiences with translation and translated literature

Things to be aware of:

  • We are a small festival run by a team of volunteers. Unfortunately, we can’t promise to respond to every submission we receive.
  • All speakers at Translated By, Bristol will be paid an appearance fee
  • Events at TBB are translator-focused. Where event pitches concern a specific book, the translator should be available to participate in the event.
